Super Wildcard Weekend Matchup 1

Simply put, forecastable. At the end of 60 minutes, San Francisco finished on top, but what might get missed is the first half tease that Seattle served. Geno Smith, the first time starter in playoff football action, stood strong in his pocket looking as confident as he had all season. Their offensive line looked up for the challenge against the tenacious niners front and Kenneth Walker was enjoying that with over 50 yards in the first two quarters. San Francisco’s rookie first timer struggled early. Trying and missing to hit the deep ball in the second quarter several times allowed Seattle to stay dominant. A penalty on Jimmie Ward put the ball in field goal range for the Seahawks and Myers nailed it giving them a surprising 17-16 lead. Kyle Shanahans encouraging halftime words sparked the teams first drive score coming out, and they never looked back. Purdy’s struggles vanished, McCaffery went off , and the Seattle lights dimmed , fairly quickly. Turnovers , miscues, and exhaustion led to an insurmountable Dev deficit. The outcome that was expected surely came but don’t sleep on what the Seahawks are building. Pete Carrol will be back. The Niners can breath for a couple days and recover. They’ll find out who they face next weekend and start preparing.
